Kevin is an extremely knowledgeable Volvo tech. I am an ASE master Technician with my L1 Advanced Diagnostic certification. I had a 1987 740 turbo that I could not get running right. I had tested and replaced everything I could think of. Long story short I ended up at KP motorworks. Kevin took on the challenge, he kept at it off and on for a couple weeks and actually figured it out. When it was all said and done the car runs great, and he didn’t charge me an arm and a leg. I would absolutely recommend his shop

Just the best mechanic I've ever met as well as a compassionate, caring person. Your vehicle is in good hands with this guy.

Kevin is a deep expert in the intricacies of Volvos. He actually writes articles on repairing the cars in the specialist magazine for Volvo mechanics. And even more important he is an honest mechanic and a good and fair man. I feel so fortunate I found KP Motorwerks and Kevin to take care of my dear XC-70, "Sven" (he is Swedish, you know). Sven has nearly 250,000 miles behind his tires. But with Volvo design and Kevin's care he is doing fine. Take your Volvo to KP. I really believe you too will be glad you did. Yohan Morgan

I'm on my third Volvo since 1989. Kevin's been working on my car since 2009 when I moved here from the East Bay. I look for a shop I can trust completely to manage what my car needs and when, being respectful of my car care budget while keeping me safe on the road. KP Motorworks is exactly that kind of place, and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Kevin took care of my 1966 544, and since 2009 has taken care of its replacement, a 1964 544. His communication skills are key. He just made an unexpected diagnosis of a starting problem-very important to us as the car will be a daily driver again soon. Thanks so much, Kevin!

If you need a VOLVO .. or .. call him .. he might work on your car even if it's not a Volvo - he's the best on Volvo for sure. He even writes a column for them - Volvo - in their magazine. Other shops call him for advise. He's the guy. Kevin Parkhurst - that's what the KP stands for.

Volvo, VW, Subaru, or any other make -- I'm here to help, Rick! It's a great joy to share my extensive knowledge of Volvo repair with my friends in Rohnert Park. Give me a shout if there's anything I can do in the future! -Kevin P., Owner

I've lived in Sonoma County for almost 50 years and maybe it has made me naive and allowed me to be mislead/cheated by Kevin. I paid Kevin to do a pre purchase inspection on a Volvo 850 wagon that I was buying from a dealer, Greg Hill, that Kevin had connected me with. Since I know very little about cars I trusted/depended on Kevin to tell me if the car was good. His written report mentioned three small leaks and a missing heat shield, and he gave me a positive verbal opinion about the car. When I took the Volvo for its first oil change the mechanic called me out into the shop and showed me that the bottom of the car was all rusted and that the radiator was held in by glue since the regular mounts were rusted away. That mechanic's judgement was that the safety of the car was compromised. I have spent the last four months trying to sell/get rid of the Volvo, which proved almost impossible, as I could not lie to potential buyers. Also, they all would open the hood and immediately notice that the radiator was held in by glue and then would ask why I had bought the car in the first place. Then I would have to tell them about Kevin and the serious omissions in the pre purchase inspection. I called Kevin and he was very curt and said he would do nothing more for me than post the car for sale on his bulletin board. There was no apology, just claims that the rust wasn't a problem. I don't know how good a mechanic Kevin is, but I would advise other people to be wary about trusting him.
